Missed Snow Day

So I reported yesterday that we was suppose to get some snow today so I was going to bake cupcakes. My new found obsession. Well needless to say the weather man was wrong (Imagine that)!! It did indeed snow today but not the 1"-3" that was called for. As a matter of fact it did not stick at all. I went about with my original plans and my sister in law and I went to Zappos to look for her some Cowboy Boots.

We are going to see George Strait and Reba McEntire in concert on April 9th at the new KFC Yum Center and since I already have a pair of cowboy boots and she knew that I would wear them she wanted to get a pair. We just happened to go out there on the right day "Thank You Jesus", they had all of their boots 70% off!! I know awesome right. When we found that out we got super excited. But man was it crazy out there, everybody else must have known about the 70% off sale also. Thankfully however we was able to find her a pair of boots. I also was able to get me some new shoes as well. I was super excited because I found the cutest pair of UGGS and I just knew I had to have them. Here they are:

I was so excited about my find that when we got out the door I immediatly put them on. My feet was also instantly warm and I feel in LOVE all over again. I come home super excited and tell my hubby who tells me they look like house slippers. UGH MEN!! They don't know anything nor do they understand why we need so many shoes.

Don't think I forgot about the Cupcakes though because I did not. I made them tonight also and let me tell you they was umm umm good. I was so happy. In my family we have always eaten Peanut Butter and Banana sandwiches for as long as I can remember. Even before I knew that Elvis Presley loved them they was my favorite. Well these cupcakes reminded me of those sandwiches by the smell. My Papaw would probably love these things. So of course I had to taste the batter. I was in heaven.

I will try and work on my photography skills as I go along with my blogging. Sorry but hey I do my best.

I know that I put the a link for the recipe on yesterday but here it is again; Peanut Butter Banana Cupcakes Recipe. The one thing that I did change in this recipe is I put 1/2 cup of butter in it, 1/4 cup just wasn't enough with all the sugar. Here is the recipe I used to make the Chocolate Butter Cream Frosting. I do want to advise that if you do not have a high powered mixer or a stand mixer it is best to mix the frosting with a wooden spoon. I broke my mixer tonight by trying to mix it. Don't worry it wasn't a very good one and I have had it a while. It's my excuse to have to buy a Kitchen Aid now.

My next adventure in the kitchen is not cupcakes but I am going to be making Gooey S'mores Bars. I know that my cousin over at Simplifying in the South would love them since she is a Smores freak.

Until next time,
AAJ

PS.............GO PACKERS
